taichimurakami To the streets and beyond
Taichi Murakami creates urban, precise, fitted and sharp silhouettes without ever sacrificing comfort.
Murakami studied fashion in Japan and Italia before becoming a pattern maker for Maurizio Amadei. He now creates menswear that blends sportswear techniques and handmade traditions. Pants stop short at the ankle. Shirts fit like a dream, as if custom made. Sophistication is made discrete in dark shades. Borrowing techniques that date back to the Edo period – 17th to 19th century, the designer also blends his cotton with ramie and konjac – a Western Asia plant – to increase the fabric’s softness and solidity.
