Suzusan Shibori, the Japanese nobility trademark

Japanese company Suzusan specializes in the Shibori technique, the Japanese art of ennobling a fabric by twisting it. For five generations, the Murase family has used their ancestral know-how: cashmere, alpaca or silk are hand-died after being patiently and carefully knotted. Today, Suzusan crafts - in vibrant colors and rich patterns inspired by the past and the present, sweaters, thick scarves and stoles so thin they are almost see-through. The label has created fabrics for some of the biggest names in fashion, from Yohji Yamamoto to Dior or Calvin Klein.
