Peter Pilotto Classical with a twist
Peter Pilotto and Christopher Van Os' inherent taste for classicism, defined waists and clean cuts results in a undeniable refinement. Their every-collections have revolved around modern embroideries and graphic patterns and prints.
Pilotto and Van Os met while studying at Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The brand – which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2017 – is known for mixing various influences, a reflection of its designers’ dynamic. The duo has always worked by completing each other’s fortes: Pilotto focuses on fabrics and prints, Van Os researches silhouettes and draperies.
Peter Pilotto’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection is the epitome of summertime bliss. Spectacular and polished silhouettes put on their colors and joie de vivre, toying with magnified bows and ruffles. Lace gets a second youth and playfulness, unveiling the skin under embroidered patches, awakening childhood dreams. Lengthy wide skirts and pants are high-waisted – way high – and worn with short tops – way short – to redefine the seasonal volumes and codes.
