Gio Ponti Italian Lightness

Born in 1891 in Milan, Gio Ponti founded the Labirinto in 1927 alongside iconic names such as Lancia, Buzzi, Marelli, Venini and Chiesa, creating together luxury objects and furniture. He launched Domus in 1928, a magazine he will direct until his passing, taking part into the renewal of Italian production.

He created the Piretti building in 1956 with Fornaroli, Rosselli and Nervi, remaining today a symbol of modern Milano.

He started collaborating with Cassina in 1957, for whom he created the Superleggera chair.
