Geoffrey B. Small The true gentleman
Geoffrey B Small is an American fashion designer. His style is both urban and edgy, drawing both from Italian menswear tailoring and a more general sense of garment history, born from an artisanal, virtuous and meticulous work.
Geoffrey B Small first stepped into fashion in the late 70s, tucked away in his parents’ attic, where he'd create clothing for his friends on an old Singer sewing machine.
He later entered a competition, catching the eye of juries Calvin Klein, Elsa Kench and Geoffrey Beene. His love for craftsmanship naturally brought him to open his workshop in Venice, hometown to sartorial know-how.
Geoffrey B Small was one of the first fashion designer to use recycled and organic materials, and his technical innovations have been embraced by Alexander McQueen, Helmut Lang and Comme des Garçons.
