Fornasetti Master of the subject

Fornasetti is a globally renowned Italian art and design House that produces and sells a wide variety of products, ranging from furniture, interior decor, ceramics, silk scarves and fashion accessories. Founded and still based in Milan, the House was created by Italian artist and designer Piero Fornasetti as an Atelier for the production of his own original pieces. It soon became far more than that, as what the designer began to work directly with artisans for greater consistency between the design and the actual pieces. The Atelier kept complete control over the production of all Fornasetti original pieces throughout the decades, ensuring the quality of all products.

Today the Atelier also houses the Fornasetti Archive, a vast collection of all original designs by Piero Fornasetti, collected over his 50-year-long career. The Archive still provides an almost unlimited source of visual material that are used in creating new collections and products. After Piero's death, his son Barnaba took over the company and today, he personally oversees the creative and productive process on each new product in the catalogue.

Fornasetti has collaborated with different luxury brands and designers to create unique lines or special editions including Philippe Starck, Gio ponti, Bardelli Ceramiche, Xilo 1934, United Perfumes, Cole & Sons, Bitossi Ceramiche and Nigel Coates.

Leclaireur is honoured to host the world largest collection of Fornasetti pieces in its spaces — a mix of rigor, imagination and an almost mystical sense of humour.
