Facetasm The Many-Faced Brand

Japanese brand Facetasm was founded in 2007 by Hirochimi Ochiai. Each season comes as a new way for the label to unveil a new creative facet – the word inspired the brand’s name – and a new glimpse of its universe. Facetasm has toyed with volumes and proportions, deconstruction and reinvention, drawing inspiration from the 90s' skating and hip hop cultures.

After graduating from Bunka Fashion College – the very same school which produced the likes of Kenzo Takada and Jun Takahashi, Hirochimi Ochiai spent 8 years working for Guildwork, the textile company, before launching his own brand. 2016 was the year of recognition for Facetasm, landing the brand a notable finalist position in the much coveted LVMH Prize – ultimately awarded to Wales Bonner.
