Cottweiler New sportswear rules in town
Ben Cottrell and Matthew Dainty launched Cottweiler in 2012. The brand ressembles the duo, as intellectual as it is free from restrictive trends. Their minimalistic sense of design, their taste for avant-garde, materials and subcultures… everything about them is active, engaged, like their wardrobe.
The two designers-to-be met at Bristol’s University of West England while studying fashion. They then followed different paths, Matthew Dainty started working for Kim Jones, while Ben Cottrell joined Britain’s greatest tailor Ozwald Boateng, on Saville Row of course. Today, they bring their different experiences together, which led them to win the 2016/2017 Woolmark Prize, a few days after their Fall/Winter 2017 show.
