Blackyoto « I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker color »

Based in Munich, Blackyoto was founded in 2013 by Jeremy McAlpine.

McAlpine and his team relentlessly scout the biggest European flea markets to find rare and precious vintage pieces, going back in time to the late 19th century or early 20th, amongst which workers jackets, military pieces, dresses and even lingerie. Blackyoto works with Kyoto Montsuki, a Japanese company specialized in artisanal dye, trusting them with the dying of the brand’s unearthed treasures into the deepest black there is, using a technique called Shinkuro. This process soften fabrics, and bestows a new found youth on each item, while preserving their original charm.
