Angelo Mangiarotti Functional abstractions
Angelo Mangiarotti was born in 1921. The Milanese artist graduated in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1948. He started working in the United States, before coming back to Italy where he founded an architectural firm with Bruno Morassutti.
His work as a designer questions shapes and functions, while highlighting essential characteristics of every objects, making them abstract yet instantly recognizable.
Mangiarotti passed away in Milan in 2012.
