Woolmark & Teatum Jones, soul & innovation

Once upon a thread, Catherine Teatum and Rob Jones met – under the Italian sun. Thus was born Teatum Jones, a refined and innovative womenswear label. Through the duo’s creative process, stories are told, and infused in the heart of every yearn they choose to knit and knot, stories like that of Agnes Moirragh Bernard. The English nun, aiming to give a sense of hope, and a legacy to the small town of Foxford, founded the Foxford Woolen Mills in 1892. Teatum and Jones worked in the same mill, modernizing their creations with unique patterns and an unabashed sense of color.

Such humanity is likely to be what set apart – ever so strongly – their collection, earning them the International Woolmark Prize.

Their Australian Merino wool collection shows so much heart, it immediately caught the eye of jury. “It was extraordinary, and we thought it was really representative of what Britain’s young designers stand for” said Roland Mouret, judging the collection alongside Andre Leon Talley, Tim Blanks, Thakoon Panichgul.

The collection, now developped and produced hand in hand with The Woolmark Company, is about to hit some of the most prestigious department stores throughout the world. Debuting at LECLAIREUR’s Boissy d’Anglas space this past Wednesday, with an exclusive event celebrating the launch of Woolmark & Teatum Jones’ capsule collection.

“It is with great pride and excitement that we welcome LECLAIREUR as a retail partner for the International Woolmark Prize. I think the Teatum Jones collection is a wonderful fit for LECLAIREUR, with their innovative design and forward thinking perfectly aligning to their philosophy.” said Stuart McCullough, the Woolmark Company’s Managing Director.
