KIJIMA TAKAYUKI – The Rules of Harmony

Balance and modernity, through the harmony of shapes and contours, are the elements of an equation Kijima Takayuki has put together to conceptualize his hats.Kijima Takayuki hats LECLAIREUR

Kijima Takayuki revisits the most iconic pieces of hat-making history: the fedora, the borsalino, wide-brimmed hats… and the Stetson itself which has inspired him a few models. All made out of cotton, wool or straw, all rich with a rightful sense of authenticity and the kind of execution Japanese designers invariably demonstrate. Entirely made in Japan, the Kijima Takayuki hats are also hand-made. Expert craftsmen are at work, following a specific technique created by the brand and highlighting the hats’ functionalities. Such a significant attention to details eventually caught the eye of brands like UNDERCOVER and TAKAHIROMIYASHITA The Soloist who invited Kijima Takayuki to collaborate.
