Alien : Covenant. Space dreamers

In 1979, Ridley Scott, then just an unknown director, set his Alien free to invade the big screen. Which it did. The eighth passenger and its strange relationship with Sigourney Weaver had cinema audiences quivering. In 2017, six films later, the now internationally renowned director brings his second prequel. Alien: Covenant features hand-sewn costumes by none other than Craig Green himself.

Hence our “hommage to Alien: Covenant” photoshoot. We love light, we love the challenge of finding light in the darkest of places. Resisting the opportunity to playfully pay our respect to the 4 decade long iconic saga – held up by masters of the genre, from James Cameron, to Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and even David Fincher – proved impossible. Craig Green’s designs on Micheal Fassbender and Katherine Waterston are outstanding – like everything the young British designer does. Did we mention he won the British menswear designer of the year award last January?

His military inspirations find here the perfect, almost logical echo in a Boris Bidjan Saberi technical jacket and a refined Ann Demeulemeester sweater. Add a Katsuyukikodama featherlight backpack for the perfect cocoon, meant to carry your belongings from one world to another.

Juun J and Rick Owens have the kind of eye that speaks volumes, with a parachute coat and its large pocket for the first, and high-waisted shorts for the other. Beauty and function, in a new world where intellect and style are bound.

Let’s push back the limits, scream louder, get out of our set ways. For decades, Leclaireur has enjoyed creating bridges between the designers who are able to transcend creation’s limits and explore new territories.
