Paris Design Week — Baby foot “Rock me Baby”

The table foot­ball table Rock Me Baby is an object taken from pop­u­lar cul­ture, as are Fabien Verschaere’s draw­ings. It is thus a rel­e­vant asso­ci­a­tion between the home-made know-how of Domeau and Pérès and Fabien Verschaere’s artis­tic expression.

Fabien Ver­schaere devel­ops a unique work, a uni­verse pop­u­lated with hybrid, mon­strous crea­tures and fan­cies stem­ming from his unbri­dled imag­i­na­tion. His inspi­ra­tion, comes from the world of the cir­cus, from tales, from the comic strip and from its own fan­tasies shows itself in a vast orga­nized chaos, between fan­tasy and real­ity. He draws his ref­er­ences as well from his­tory of art, every­day life, pop cul­ture and elab­o­rates on a per­sonal mythol­ogy, a dream­like uni­verse, reap­pro­pri­at­ing and humor­ously mock­ing child­like imagery. Water­col­ors, draw­ings, paint­ings, ceramic, instal­la­tions, car­toon movies, are the many tech­in­ques that the artist likes. The spec­ta­tor is then invited to dive into a dream­like world.
