L’Eclaireur is delighted to wel­come Tom Bed­dard, dig­i­tal artist, in our Sévi­gné space. You will find Tom Beddard’s dig­i­tal art­works on the 147 screens and in our dig­i­tal art gallery, the Roombook.

UK-based artist, Tom Bed­dard, stud­ied physics at Not­ting­ham Uni­ver­sity and grad­u­ated from the Uni­ver­sity of St Andrews (Scot­land) with a PhD in laser physics. Fas­ci­nated by the Inter­net, he rapidly became a web devel­oper work­ing for var­i­ous agen­cies spe­cialised in eCom­merce con­tent man­age­ment sys­tems, inter­ac­tive museum exhi­bi­tions and video production.

Tom con­sid­ers him­self to be a ‘cre­ative coder’, a techie with a con­cern for aes­thet­ics. He writes pro­grammes that explore math­e­mat­i­cal and gen­er­a­tive graph­ics and share them on his web­site, subblue.com. He is fas­ci­nated with the aes­thet­ics of detail and the com­plex­ity of Gen­er­a­tive art as the result of sim­ple math­e­mat­i­cal or algo­rith­mic processes.
