Bernardo

Founder Bernard Rud­of­sky was a noted archi­tect and struc­tural engi­neer, but what few peo­ple know is that this archi­tect changed the fash­ion world. He was cred­ited for the advent of the mod­ern day san­dal by Harper’s Bazaar mag­a­zine in 1967
After liv­ing in Italy for over 20 years, Den­nis and Lynne Comeau returned to the US and are now design­ing for Bernardo. Prior to this, they designed shoes for Prada and Dolce & Gabanna. They focus their efforts on con­tin­u­ing to revi­tal­ize and ener­gize the brand, work­ing out of a design stu­dio on their prop­erty out­side of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
