Cappellificio Cervo was created in 1897, in the Bella region – north of the Italian Piedmont plain, drawing its name from the nearby torrent. At the very heart of that hat-making region, the company, originally thought of as a cooperative, developed its ability to craft high-end hats. As timeless classic panamas, the Cervo hats – handmade out of felt – have become tokens of refinement, resulting from ancient traditions and crafting techniques, sometimes dating from as early as the 18th century, which have participated in the brand’s success. In 1987, Cappefillicio Cervo bought another iconic hatter, Barbisio, known for making the Savoy Royal Army’s hats.
