A foot in the future
Shoe designer Alberto Premi’s reputation is that of a creative, persistent and exuberant designer. His motto? “Design is the paradise of individuality, eccentricity, heresy, abnormality, hobbies and humor”. His colorful and futuristic creations thrive with various textures, and promise a lifetime of adventures.
As a child, this son of a bootmaker literally walked in his father’s footsteps, following him around the workshop and studios. In 2014, then freshly graduated from ITS Machina Linati de Brescia (Italy) in Design and Fashion, his second collection earns him the Who’s Next prize in the Accessories category.
Premi skillfully blends his father’s traditional know-how with the latest technologies in shoe-making. His influences are numerous, from sports to Delacroix and Bernini’s canonic bodies, including Tomasso Marinetti’s Manifesto of Futurism, where he found two key ideas illustrating his work: modernity and velocity.
